How to install Flash on iPhone

Updated at: Jul 13, 2022

It is not possible to install Flash on iPhone or iPad

We're sorry, but it's not (and has never been) possible to install Adobe Flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. Apple's mobile operating system (iOS) has never supported Flash and it never will.

In 2010, under Steve Jobs' direction, Apple chose not to support Flash technology, which was very popular at the time. Apple caught a lot of heat at the time for not deciding to support Flash on their mobile devies, but in history has shown that it was a very wise decision. Steve wrote an article called Thoughts on Flash where he outlines the reasons that Apple chose not to support Flash on mobile.

Flash used to be immensely popular and it's main uses at the time were to help people watch streaming video, make websites more interactive, and to play games online. In 2025 the technology used to do those things has evolved and Flash isn't used for them any more.

Adobe has also decided to stop supporting Flash in 2020, so you really don't need it installed any more.

If you really need to use Flash you can install it on your Windows or Mac computer.

Flash used to be a magical part of the internet; there were so many fun games and hilarious Flash movies made over the years, but technology has moved on and these things can now be done with JavaScript and HTML5.
