  3. Choose what to delete and click "Reset"

Now you'll see a list of things you can choose to clear from Safari. Check or uncheck the boxes depending on what you want to clear.

There is a vertical list of check boxes for each item and Cancel/Reset buttons at the bottom.

When you just want to do a basic "clear your browser" type of refresh, you probably want to just have Clear history, Remove all website data and Clear the Downloads window checked with the others unchecked. Checking the other options may clear more data from your computer than you need to...

Here is an explanation of each choice:

    Option name Description
Clear history This will clear the list of websites that you've visited in Safari
Reset Top Sites Safari keeps a list of sites you visit regularly and may show it to when you open a new Safari window. Resetting your Top Sites clears this list.
Reset all location warnings If you have granted or denied permission to any websites to access your location data, this will reset those permissions, so you will be prompted again when you revisit those websites.
Reset all website notification warnings If you have granted or denied permission to any websites to send you notifications, this will reset those permissions, so you will be prompted again when you revisit those websites.
Remove all website data This will clear your browser cache and your website cookies.
Clear the Downloads window This gets rid of the list of items in your "Downloads" window (files you have recently downloaded).
Close all Safari windows If you have this ticked when you click Reset, it will close all your Safari tabs and windows and present you with a fresh, blank Safari window.

Once you have made your selection of what data you want Safari to clear, click the "Reset" button to clear those items.

Congratulations, you have now cleared your selected browsing data from your computer. You can simply close this window and continue to use Safari.
