You're not using macOS and we can't figure out what Operating System you're using

Hmm, we can't actually figure out whic Operating System you're using. We rely on your web browser to tell us which operating system you're using, but for some reason it's not doing that.

You might have a privacy extension installed which is hiding it from us, or your browser may simply just not send that information to websites you visit. Either way, right now we can't actually figure out what operating system you're using!

macOS Version Names

Every major version of macOS is given a memorable name for it; for example macOS 14.x is known as "Sonoma" and macOS 15.x is known as "Sequioa". The names for each version of macOS come from interesting and beautiful places in California, which is the location of Apple's Headquarters.

Finding your macOS Build Number

If you need to know the build number of your copy of macOS, click the menu icon in the Top Left of your screen, select About This Mac and then click the version number to reveal the Build Number.
