Browser/OS/Device detection

To detect which web browser, operating system, device type and so on, that your customers are using, you can use our User Agent Parsing API. Your server simply sends us a single API request containing their user agent, and we instantly reply with a very detailed break-down of their Browser, OS, Device etc; including whether their browser is up to date. You can detect:

  • Web Browser Name
  • Web Browser Version
  • Is there Web Browser up to date?
  • Operating System Name
  • Operating System Version
  • Operating System Flavour (eg Ubuntu vs RedHat)
  • Software Type
  • Hardware Type
  • HTML Layout Engine
  • Extra Capabilities
  • Is it an "abusive" user agent
  • ...and more!

It's free to use for the basic stuff, and Companies or individuals with more advanced needs can use the higher-tier plans to get more detailed data, a higher quota and access to additional end points.

Embed our IFrame on your site

If using our Library and API is a bit overkill for your needs, you can always just embed our handy IFrame on your site. This will show the same kinds of detection that we provide on our homepage in a neat read out for you to show to your visitors. You can control what it displays to your visitors, and you can even customise the appearance so that it blends in perfectly with the design of your site:

  • Level of detection detail
  • Check if their browser is up to date
  • Show browser capabilities
  • IP Address
  • Screen Size
  • Background Color
